Not sure if anyone has seen this before but, I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 motherboard with 8GBs ram (see below for complete specs) and I had a weird issue when my PC went into sleep mode. I have a logitech G11 keyboard and normally when it goes into sleep mode, the keyboards lights shut off. Well, I came back to my machine after it had gone into sleep mode but all the lights on the keyboard were still lit. The machine wasn't running. So I tapped a key on the keyboard to bring it out of sleep mode and all it would do is try to power up for 2 seconds then power down, then power up for 2 seconds then power down--it did this endlessly. I had to kill the power to get it to stop. After that it powered on normally. I am using Vista 64bit with SP1 and all updates and latest drivers. Heat was not an issue. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem on my gigabyte ep35-ds3r board. Actually, it only became a problem when I overclocked my q6600. At stock processor settings, the computer goes in and out of sleep mode just fine. Is your computer OC'd?

I asked this question before and it seems like its an uncommon problem BUT its not isolated. Look on google for gigabyte "cold boot" and "S3 standby" issues. Yours is closer to the S3 standby I think. There seems to be no remedy given by gigabyte in the form of bios or what not.

Toadeater, here on the forums, has an interesting workaround by using the CIA function in the bios to have the computer manually overclock at a given moment which seems to clear out the cold boot and s3 issues though I have not tried it myself. Personally, I find it a minor concern as everything else works fine and I keep my computer off most of the time. Hopefully someone like toadeater or other knowledgable peeps will comment as I'm still trying to understand the issue myself.

I found the thread where the toad compiles a bunch of threads highlighting the cold boot problem. Didn't see many on the s3 one. But he does post his "temporary" remedy. See if it works.

I have a Gigabyte P965 S3 board and it's acted strangely with Logitech products. I have a G7 mouse that never turns off. Plug it into my fiances computer and it does fine, but if I go to sleep at night and come back the next morning the mouse battery will have dropped from 3 bars to either 1 bar or red. On fiance's computer it's just fine. Also have a G15 keyboard that's been bugging out on this computer. The software will hang when the computer goes into sleep mode. For instance my LCD is showing 2:42:12 am right now, the performance monitor won't update, and the software itself hangs in such a way that I can't even force close the tasks in task manager. A manual reboot is the only thing that clears it, and it's then fine until the computer goes into sleep mode again the next evening. My opinion of Gigabyte is really starting to diminish in a hurry.
