Weird Internet Speeds

This has been happening for the past two weeks so I figured I would post it here and see if anyone could offer an explanation.

Bandwith tests from speedtest and mcafee show my connection in the 20-30Mbit range. Also, whenever I download files from rapidshare (40+MB), the first 10-15 seconds the speed is normal but soon after it jumps to 30+Mbit. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and know what's causing it.

Some ISP's (namely comcast) do this, I believe powerboost is the name or something to that effect. It basically allows super fast speeds for a few seconds. Its completely normal

Thanks Radical, I'm with Road Runner. Maybe they just started a speedboost thing recently. It was odd because it's never happened before.
