weird intermittent shut down

I'm trying to fix my friend's Dell Inspiron 8500. It has a very weird shut down issue under normal usage(browsing, listening to musics, viewing docs). It's very intermittent and I'm on AC power. It does the same thing on battery power. I'm keeping track of the cpu temp and it's good( ~35-40C). One thing I notice is that it tries to reboot and fails at Dell loading up screen(which is right before windows load screen pops up), then reboots again, and just shut down by itself completely.

Can someone please help me diagnose this weird symptom? Thanks.
