weird HD-box + DVI problem

So i decided to free up a component input and use my empty DVI input on my tv for HD cable. I usually stick to HD only channels so it was fine, but when i swich to a non-HD channel, the picture is zoomed in by at least 4x and stretched out. Anyone know what the dealio could be?

comcast non-dvr HD unit. btw

Unless there are options in the menu which pertain to this, I would try comcast customer support. They may have a fix which can be download to the box...or they might just try replacing the box with a newer model altogether.

didn't see any option in the menus. Any other ideas?

its a westy 42" 720p lcd btw.

pointless, they don't know how their own billing system works let alone how their equipment works. Was just hoping someone might have had this before. Guess its back to component for me 🙁
