Hey-
I have a Radeon 9800 pro and downloaded the farcry demo. I played it about 20 mins and everything was fine, but when I raised the resolution to 1280x1040 or above, there was serious graphics problems...textures would flicker or disapear, the whole screen would flash to just water and no land, the sand texture would be just blue etc...Well now for some reason at ANY resolution it does that. I think if I lower it really far I might be able to play it w/out artifacts but I dont know why it's doing this. I have 1G system ram and am running a p4 3.2c.
Also- I have the latest drivers and have them set to application preference.
Another weird thing is that when I installed the game it said that my AGP apature size seemed lower than 64megs, but when I checked in the bios it was at 64.
Thanks for the help.

I have a 9700 pro and also had problems with the demo. I think the problem is aa/af related so turn off the candy and try it again. Must of been fixed in the full version because I only hear of people having problems with the demo.

Same here, it only happened when I turned on 2xAA, I assumed it was from my 9500/9700 softmod, glad to hear it's not.

Turn your AGP to 128 megs, that will help also (assuming you have at least 256)

256 system ram right? I didnt get the 256meg version of the 9800pro but I'm guessing your talking system ram.
I did turn it up to 128 and didnt see a diff, and this is with no AA on =(

I'm getting the same thing on the retail version, patched to 1.1. I've found that changing the resolution in the options to anything other than what is selected always fixes it for me. This is after starting the game. btw - I have a 9800 Pro with the latest Cat drivers.

I have the Radeon 9800 pro 128 also and here's what's been happening for me in the Far Cry retail ver. 1.1. With my AA on, the game will randomly crash while I'm playing. The screen will freeze and then my monitor will go out (like the video card is no longer sending any info to it). Only thing I can do is restart my computer (can't get back to desktop). I turned off AA and the game played fine for a while, until I got to a new map (3rd island mission I think). Now it's crashing again. I have no clue how to stop this crashing. Occasionally when it crashes, my desktop will come up and I get a warning from my video card saying that hardware rendering failed and that in order to continue it must use software rendering.

Some catalysts I think had some problems with Far Cry demo. But the latest wasn't an issue I think again.(I'm assuming you mean cat4.3)
Anyway check again the AA from inside game options to be off. That was a sure problem.
I used Omegas 3.9 for the demo and Omegas 4.3 for the full game. None of them created problems to me.
