Weird Finder issue

So almost every morning I wake up to find my Finder isnt responding fully. (I leave my MBP running over night.) When I get up, if i open Firefox, it will open but the Finder will not change from Finder or whatever last App i used the night before..usually its Itunes. I also cant do anything in Firefox as if its not the active windows..which basically makes sense.

Any idea what could be causing this? It doesnt happen every morning, so removing or closing other apps to see they are the culprit, isnt really helping.

Sounds like crazy corruption of some kind.

What version OS X? I am going to go ahead and assume that you have tried restarting.

I suppose try repairing permissions, it could fix the problem, doesn't take that long, and someone else is probably going to suggest it.

Have you installed anything recently? Perhaps right around the time that this started?

A restart fixes it. I am seeing it on 10.6.3 and .4. I thought it was Peer Guardian but i left that off and it still did it. However i do still have it installed. I can try doing the permissions, though im pretty sure i tired that.

First thing I always try is making a fresh user account and see if you experience the same issues with the new account.

So far 2 days without issue since uninstalling Peer Guardian so maybe that was case.

ScottSwing,

Its not a memory issue. I run istat for one thing and havent noticed it close to being full. Also even if i do use a lot of memory i never have this sort of issue.
