Weird Fedex delivery methods

Purchased two items from the same online store. Each purchase individually because of the Google checkout deal within an hour of each other.
Package A got into Fedex hands on Dec. 8th at 7:24pm
Package B got into Fedex hands on Dec. 8th at 8:44pm

Package A went out for delivery at 3:00am today
Package B went out for delivery at 4:35am today

Package A was delivered at 12:43pm and left at front door
Package B delivery exception at 2:50pm customer not available 😕

Meanwhile Package A and also Package C delivered by DHL is sitting at my front door?. They couldn?t leave the other package there?

Called Fedex and they couldn?t understand why that happen when the package had no restrictions. They will try again tomorrow with a note saying leave it at the door.

With all of them packages at the door. They might of thought you died.

Apparently you have yet to experience the joys of tracking a package that gets handed off from one carrier to another. Two years ago, I ordered a book from Amazon. They shipped it via UPS to my local post office, who was supposed to bring it to me. I did eventually find it. I also found another place to buy books!

I had something shipped like that also. I think it was a Dell system with free shipping. It was shipped with some random carrier and then delivered to the post office.

FedEx can be strange... we use them exclusively due to overwhelming customer demand, but I think they are quite inefficient. The split ground/express divisions is the main reason for this.

The other day, I had 6 - yes, 6 FedEx trucks show up. 4 of them delivered different packages, and then I had one arrive to pick up our outgoing ground shipments, and another to pick up outgoing express shipments.

So package B required a signature, package A did not. What's so unfathomable about it?

Thats what I thought, but it didn't require a signature. Both packages were unrestricted.
