Weird Email Problem

I'm running Windows XP Pro with SP3 installed, and Kaspersky 6.0 Anti Virus. When I try to get mail in any Outlooks or Eurdora or any mail client for that matter it does not recieve the incoming mail. Anyone know the solution to this, it's shows up as cancelled as the action to get the mail from the incoming server in Outlook and just shows Error in Eudora. I don't think my security settings are to tight or anything.
