My DVD-ROM won't read my CD that I burnt from my friend's computer. I can browse, look at all its content but I can't copy or play the files in the CD. I went to my friend's house again and it worked on his computer. I'm using Win 2000 SP2 and he's using Win 98SE, I think.

Interesting. What happens exactly when you attempt to copy or play the files?? I can see how it may not see the CD period but I find it odd how it can see the directory yet won't allow you to do anything with the files therein.

"The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable". Keep in mind that this CD works with my friend's PC. I just tried playing CD audio with my DVD-ROM and Winamp just played it fine. I'm so confused, what could be wrong. Maybe it's because my friend burnt his CD with Win 98 and I'm trying to play it with Win 2000?

Try and Reburn the CD on your friends pc as well as on someone elses writer. I've seen sometimes on older recorders , they record a disk , and the recording process goes 100 % trouble free , but when data is accesed from the disk it gives you an error.Your friend may have a better quality DVD/CDROM than you have and may result in maybe reading the disk.

Try and open other CD-R'd disks on your pc , and make sure your DVD is able to read/open these files

Try and Use Different CD-R Media , on your friends writer . Some Drives , even today have difficulty handling some media brands.
