Switch On every thing that uses the Wireless and run the program that I linked to in my post Dec.2 post.

Then save the output and you would have a list of all Devices' IPs, MACs, etc. that are using the Wireless.

Help you avoid looking for "Aliens" in the Future.

I had the IP and the MAC and a "name" (my router gives me all that). Its just the the name was being misreported.

It's like a social security number for your NIC. You get one assigned at birth and you only need it for certain sensitive transactions (like getting a DHCP lease.) Pretty much all the stuff you care about uses the IP address instead.

Yes. Just like fake SSNs. (See also: VMWare.)

So services (like Plex, etc) can just make up a MAC to broadcast? Are there any rules to that?

Normally a vm host would generate a spoofed MAC and they do have a standard way of doing it to mostly avoid problem. Plex itself would not do that.
