Weird CPU Temperature Situation

OK...

I have an ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 mobo and an Athlon 64 3000+ Venice core CPU and I'm getting some strange temperature readings.

According to my BIOS, my idle temp is in the 38-40 degree celcius range while Everest reports that my idle temp is in the 32-35 degree celcius range.

Also, I'm uisng the stock HSF and thermal pad that came with the CPU and my heatsink is cold/cool to the touch...isn't it supposed to at least be warm?

Please give me your ideas before this drives me crazy.

Those are perfectly normal idle temps. The bios "idle" temps will always be a bit higher than windows, as the CPU is actualy under a slight load. Also, your load temps are far more important than your idle temps.
