weird colors on the monitor

Hello everyone,
A few days back when I switched my PC on, a bright white light flashed on the monitor. After that day there are various colors like purple and light brown on the edges of the monitor. But the center of the monitor is normal without any odd colors. Please help.

sounds like your crt is going bad. did you try and refresh settings

yes, i did refresh the settings. by the way wht is crt???

crt stands for cathode ray tube. you might try degaussing your monitor. it that doesn't work, or your monitor starts making high-pitched noises, it's probably about to die

also, you might check your video card & see if it's ok & have a look at the pins on your monitor cable. if they're bent, that can cause all kinds of weird things.
