Weird CD-ROM Problem

I have my 48x Memorex cdrom set to "Master"
I have my Creative 4x2x24x burner set to "Slave"

When ever I am installing programs or games from my 48x it locks up and I have to reboot my pc. It will start to install fine, then for some odd reason the creative burner light would come on and then the pc will lockup.

Any suggestions?
