Weird CD-ROM Drive

hah, I was installing a new virusscanner on my parent's HP computer running Windows 98 SE and i kept on typing "D:/" in the run prompt . . .

it kept on saying that there's no D:\, so i opened up the computer, made sure the cables were connected and tried again

didnt work again, so i just went through the alphabet only to find out that HP programmed it as the M:/

????????

um... shouldn't it be D:\?

thank you, captain obvious

I go up to N with the memory card reader on my HP printer, but that's crazy that it was M on its own. I'm suprised when I see anything higher than E on someones computer I'm fixing.

uhhh HP did not program it that way. Get your head out of your @ss on that one.

Go into drive management and assign it the letter d:.

No biggie, any half rate technician should have no problem accomplishing this.
