I had a problem with my system starting Ok but not getting past the first Dos Screen.
That being the one with the Bios ID CPU ID etc and Magic Health. ( EP-8K3A+) has it.
So I removed the CPU, Video Card, Memory and Motherboard. Can Aired and cleaned
all the components and redid the Arctic Silver on the CPU.
Reassembled everything and
it worked fine. The only thing I found was a hard drive ribbon cable connector came
apart at the motherboard. but I have 2 drives and in the course of troubleshooting I
switched drives and it did the same thing. The LED Indicator on the Motherboard showed
79 every time which was no help because no Code 79 in the MB Manual. Was this a POST problem or just some wacky intermittent electron black hole type thing?
