Just built a spankin-new system, with an an out-of-the-box new Intel D875PBZ and a P4 2.8HT ... everything is wonderful, except for a strange BIOS notice I get every time I boot it up.
After the Intel splash screen, I get the following error message:
"cmos/gpnv checksum bad"
It asks me to enter setup, and everything seems hunky-dory, including time/date, so I proceed to Windows.
But once there, the machine has the year set as "12004." I can reset it, but it always reverts back to 12004.
Moreover, it seems to prevent certain programs from running, like anti-virus updater, etc.
I have reset the BIOS to all defaults, flashed the BIOS, pulled the battery out, etc... am I missing something?
Moreover, Intel has not been very helpful - should I be surprised by that?
