Specs first I guess

Asus A7V133 w/raid
Tbird 1.4@1.58 (1.85 volts)
786 megs of PC150 ram
GeForce3
SB Live Value
Windows XP Pro

For some reason I cang et my fsb past 144mhz stable, at 145/146Mhz...XP will load but my geforce goes into that wonderful everytime I open My Computer. My computer wont even boot at 150Mhz, I know its not my ram becuase iv ran my memory at 153Mhz before.....

I tried something new today. I tired 5.5x150Mhz = 825MHz and guess what! my computer started! I got my computer to start up using a 150MHz fsb all the way up to a 6.5 muiltplier and 7+ makes the computer not even post.

Why wont my computer start up using a 150Mhz fsb with a muiltplier setting of 7x or up?

Just a thought here, but are you sure you are setting the bridges correctly on the TBird? Thinking you are setting it at 7.0 and really it's 10 or more?

Do a little searching, iirc their was a problem with the board trying to boot at the fsb speed using the original multiplier not what was set by the bios.

<< Im using the 1007 bios, the sb is in slot 3 and Im using a Enermax 430watt ps >>

Maybe u wanna try
1. less agressive timing (CAS3) for the RAM (I know ur RAM can do 150 FSB@CAS2...just try if it help).
2. O/Cing w/ just 1 stick of RAM first. (sometime more than 1 stick of RAM caused some probs).
2. I/O voltage at 3.4-3.6v
3. If u have O/Ced ur VGA card. Back off to default.

I can do 145 FSB on my mobo w/ a Duron800@994.

1) the CAS setting doesnt matter

2) Using just one stick doesnt matter

3) The I/O voltage can be 3.3-3.6, it doesnt matter

I think you missed the point.

My computer will not boot up using a 150MHz FSB. I tired using the lowest muiltplier which is 5.5 with a 150MHz FSB and guess what my computer booted up and started Win XP.

Now I tired every muiltplier from there up and it started at 6.5x150Mhz, however, it did NOY boot up at 7x150Mhz or higher....

During all this time all 3 memory sticks were installed and running at CAS2 with 3.4 I/O voltage.

I did try just 1 stick on ram and cas3 with 3.6 I/O voltage and nothing mattered at 7x150Mhz and up....
