a couple of things to put into perspective...
A) Doesn't the stock 1700+ only run @ 1400?...so being *not that satisfied* w/ a 600 mhz overclock or a 800 mhz overclock sounds kinda bad- yes i know *most* can overclock that high but still! that's a nice overclock!
B) isn't the chip only like 60ish$...and with that 600 mhz overclock it puts it into territority of chips that are 150+$ (too lazy to look up actual prices)
just my .02 cents...other than that good job on the overclock..
besides cooling, psu, just allow the sucker to burn in after each oC. for a few days..i.e. run a distributed computing client or prime95 for a few days. then oc. a bit more...same thing. its amazing what a burn in can do![]()
This whole burn-in thing has been discussed b4 and it is generally regarded as rubbish.
I believe many engineers would tell u the same thing..the CPU has already been burnt-in during the manufacturing process...and there's absolutely no point for you to burn-in it more
