No. The weights are not an Olympic set. They are not rubber rounded or made of it. They are also too small. The bar doesn't look like an Olympic one either. They are also 20kg exactly and built to last.

No one probably does actual weightlifting. :D

btw good buy. Nice price.

You can squat on it fine. You probably can't squat lots at the moment anyway. Stick it on the bench press hooks and take them off it and squat. When it gets heavy you can probably still do the same :D

I beg to differ. I don't know what the"olympic" desigantion is the UK is, but here is Ametica it's the size of the hole in the weight plates (2") and the size of the bars where the weights go. That set is absolutely an olympic sized set. No, it's not rubber coated "bumper plates" but that isn't the criteria here for "olympic" sized weight plates and bars.

The bar on the bench looks like a standard 45 lb olympic bar.

Now, the curl bar and dumbells in pic #1 are NOT olympic sized plates or bars. But the bench bar and weights, the leg curl attachment, and the shorter bar behind the bench are, without a doubt, olympic sized.

Maybe the confusion here is that there are two different size standards in the picture?

An Olympic bar is 20kg. They do not use that in the Olympic games or in any competitions.

They'd have to be dumper plates and have the same diameter also. Can't remember the exact number but the 10, 15, 20 and 25kg weights are all of the same diameter. Only the 5kg and 1.25kg and 2.5kg collars are smaller in diamter. The others have to make contact with the floor at the same diameter.

Maybe an american Olympic set but not what I'd call an Olympic set in England. They'd all have to be rubber apart from the 5kg and below and the bar would have to be to standard.

The edge here at the end of the weight bit at the end should not be here also:

It should be flat to the edge then cut down to the middle part of the bar. But hey man I'm a picky mofo with some things lol.

OK, so there seems to be a difference of definition here. That's cool. Go to any US fitness storewebsite and look up the weight sets. All sets with 2" holes are deemed "olympic" and 1" holes are deemed "standard."

Example: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1125026&cp=710956.1085818.693997&parentPage=family

Also, the standard "olympic" sized bar is 45 lbs. We have a seperate category for bumper plates.
