Wegame.com

So there is a site out there that is just developing, aspiring to be the "Youtube of Games."

It supports a fair deal of games including Company of Heroes, so I am pretty interested in it. I did a couple of test videos, and it did not degrade performance for me, so they're pretty cool. Plus, I didn't have to fiddle around like I do in xfire.

wegame.com

And no, I don't have any connection to the site, I just think it's cool. 😛

I love watching other people's replays for some games like pvping in WoW. You can learn how to do tricks for pvping, listen to cool music you never heard of, see the cool mods people sport in their customized gameplay, and feel pumped up.

On the other hand, I quit Wow 2 years ago so I stopped watching replays.

I can't wait to see some good PvP Age of Conan replays.

Yeah I forgot about that perk, I never would of heard of Fall Out Boy or Linkin Park if it weren't for YouTube gameplay videos.

Crawwwwwwlingggggggggg innnnnnn my skinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn:music:

I like watching other people's replays. I like watching other people play games. It's almost as interesting to me as if I was playing the game myself.

Thank you op.

These wounds they will not heil.

Sorry, had to.

Anyway, I like watching gamer vids from time to time. It's a nice way to develop strategy.

Right now the site is just developing, but its the idea of a community of gamers who play games, watch games and share games; strategies, machinima, anything really. The way I see it.

I used to love watching Warcraft3 replays, you learned a lot of stuff and it was pretty exciting, like watching a sport on your tv.

What is wrong with Gametrailers? Allows user submitted movies last I checked. There is also own-age.com and another site that I am drawing a blank on right now.

The thing that makes this a bit different than gametrailers is that it provides you with a method to record your videos, specific to the website. This means that it only supports specific games, but at least they're trying to make it easier. I believe the kid behind this got some VC to back him also, which rules.

I love watching glitch videos of any sort, and sometimes speedruns depending on the game. If it's just a standard playthrough though, it wouldn't be that interesting.

Pretty cool, thanks OP. Depending on the game and what is going on in the video I can really get into watching game videos. I've spent countless hours watching various Street Fighter videos online and I've also watched quite a few TF2 videos now.

Maybe we can get some decent videos made from the ATTF2 nights!

I made a WoW pvp video way back in the day. Skip to 12:45 for some PVP epic crits synced to Tchaikovsky 1812's overture.

From what I have read, FRAPs can be a bitch on your performance. Also, this site is designed for movie making, so you can record in high quality and low quality, depending on what you want.

Its meant to help you record and put up the videos on the site and show your friends cool stuff.

I mean, why do people upload so much game footage on youtube all the time?

There is minimal FPS loss if you record to a separate hard drive. I just tested it in Assassin's Creed. Game settings all at max (DX10 mode), recording @ 1680x1050 and 30fps only dropped my in game fps by about 5. I think a bigger limiter is your hard drive speed; I was recording to a RAID 0 array, so it wasn't a problem. The files very large quite quickly.

Did you just test FRAPs or Wegame? Wegame isn't available for Assassin's Creed. 😛

i don't think RAID-0 matters .. and you can easily record to the same HD with FRAPS .. unless you thrash, there should be no problem

i am starting to record 10x7 using my CRT .. the "details" are easier to see.
