Weezers NEW NEW album to be titled "Maladroit"

Apparently all hints on the Weezer web site indicate the new album to be released early 2002 will be titled "Maladroit"

See Weezer.com Audio-Video page. Discuss. Latest versions of the Songs "Keep Fishin", "Dope Nose" are posted.

They sound most excellent. I am one of the few (it seems) Green Album fans...and I think it compares well with Blue and Pinkerton. Nevertheless, the new songs are a fresh change...and I like them already.

azazyel, sorry you feel that way. But thanks for the free bump!
Kami, should be great. Weezer has never dissapointed me with an album. Rivers knows how to write and sing some catchy tunes!

My personal fav. of the three is "Dope Nose"

Take Control is great, but there was an earlier version that sounded better to me...less noisy. But it's an evolution so the final song can probably change. Otherwise the tracks are showing good progress on the soundmix. The track that you can't download now called "Space Rock" is really good as well. I can't wait for the final album!

I can set up an FTP so you can download some of the demo/live songs and B-sides Weezer has made over the years. PM me if you are interested.

I'm listening to 3 or their new songs from thei website, they sound really good. Alot more creative musically than the green album.

Wondering where Weezergirl is myself. Anyhow, I don't think the Green Album was uncreative. It was more radio friendly than Pinkerton and some of the Blue album. To me, that's not a bad thing. The band wants to attract a wider audience and I can respect that.

OK, Dope Nose sounds like a throw back to classic rock, and a kind a weird one at that. Take Control sounds more like what Weezer has put out.

listening to the new weezer stuff makes me want to cry. i've seriously been having an identity crisis listening to the new songs!

the songs i like (which aren't even going to be on the new album are!): saturday night, blast off, high up above, acapulco, burnt jamb, december. oh and check out rivers' cover of better off alone. good stuff.

anyways, we'll see how this new album sounds. i still love them.

well they used to have the new album along with a bunch of other songs on the audio/visual page on their website but it looks like they took it down recently. try morpheus? or if u have a fast connection i can send it to u over aim. another nite tho, i should be going to bed soon.

bump for an ftp site perhaps?

I'd love to hear these songs I just discovered weezer last year and I love their first two albums.

Weezergirl, if there is no ftp can you IM me at "txt40" perhaps and hook me up. Pretty please, it'll be fast, i'm on an OC-3 155 Mbit LAN.

I really like "Sandwiches Time", but I don't think that's gonna make it to the album. Probably my favorite of the ones definitely on the album is "American Gigolo", but I like "Dope Nose" a lot too. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like all the new demos!

=W= 😎

Wow...this thread has grown quite a bit! Weezergirl I'm a bit surprised that you don't like most of the new stuff? I think the new direction is good direction--it's fresh without alienating us fans who love the Weezer formula: Catchy lyrics, killer guitar hooks and rock-and-roll emotion.

EDIT: Listenin' to the latest mix of "American Gigalo" they got up on the page. Very cool! At the intro I was taken aback by the riffs as it's not very typical Weezer, but then it really grooves into some catchy hooks and lyrics. It's not the usual smooth Weezer sound we saw much of in TGA. Take Control is really shaping up nicely. I had some of these tunes burned on a B-sides CD for over 6 months now so I feel pretty cool. 😛

Overall the album is quite a bit harder and more pure rock and roll than the more popsy Green Album.
