During the past three days we've been meeting with Carl Christensen,
the software architect of Climateprediction.net,
to figure out how we have to extend BOINC to handle their project.

But it's very exciting that we're moving towards our long-term goal -
sharing the "global computer" optimally among diverse science projects.
That's some awesome news there. It will be really great when/if BOINC makes running differents projects as easy as it sounds like they want it to.

Indeed, sounds great! :D

Question is just when that'll be the case.

The current CPDN, as it is right now, is in phase 2 and it is supposed to run for about 3 to 5 years. I don't know if they'll convert to BOINC for Phase 3 and following or if they gonna convert earlier. Haven't found any info on that yet, though it seems as if they wanna convert earlier. Else talks like the above would be kinda useless. :D

I only have 8 full runs.

The rest is runs in progress.

My slowest just finished its first run (82 days on a Celeron 1300)

Well, that gives me a hint on a flaw in my stats. How could I distinguish between "in progress" and "really completed" runs? Any idea? Cause what I do right now is that I divide your total MYs by 45 and the result is you completed runs. But that obviously only goes for ppl with 1 machine.

I don't think it matters a whole lot if you go by full runs since the project expects to have quite a few runs that die before the full 45 years has past. The offical way to track rankings is by model years. Your way is a good as any other way unless the project expose the full completion and partial completion fields that the individual stats have.

Would u suggest to cange the milestones from Full Runs (which I can never be sure of) to ModelYears (where I can always be sure of) ?

Model years is the simplest way to do it. But I do like the icons at the 45 year increments.
