Weekend Nor'easter & Blizzard thread

Well I cut my trip to the city short this weekend--JetBlue let me change for free so I left this afternoon literally just as the tip of the storm was approaching (it started snowing while taxiing to the runway!)

So who all are gonna be affected by the storm this weekend and what are your plans for riding it out?

Just got back from grocery shopping, filled up the gas tank and both snowblowers, planning on cozying up with my S.O. and enjoy watching The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Blob and Invasion Of The Body Snatchers<---Something I am going to do to her later on tonight 😉

I love the snow, and while physically exhuasting, the solitude of shoveling snow from your driveway alone early in the morning is a humbling experience.

I hope we get more than a foot as predicted, as I love a good snow storm once a year or more, very pretty.

I'm gonna park myself in front of the weather channel (and local channels) and watch everybody go all wacko. I love live TV. Can't wait to see the goofy "blizzard of 2006" graphics that they'll come up with.

nothing going on here. never anything going on here on the weekends.

I will shovel. Maybe I will watch the first season of HOUSE. I need to finish the curtains I am making for the dining room, too.

Pennsylvania here, we've got some heave snow coming down right now, good thing I don't need to go anywhere.

First cute nickname! Weather Channel calls it the Weekend Whiteout! Nice alliteration. No graphic yet, just a crawl.

Everytime they call it a "winter storm" we wind up getting about 2 inches of snow. :disgust: I loved how when I was driving to 7-Eleven yesterday the local supermarket was jammed pack with crazies thinking we're going to get snowed in for a week.

barely any snow in warren county nj. been snowing 4 hours. not even a inch yet.

Consider yourself lucky. All that really matters is that it doesn't stick to the road, or melt and freeze over. Six of one, half dozen of the other I guess...

I used to think the same thing when I was little. Then I got older, and was forced to drive in the bad conditions and shovel and de-ice the driveways and sidewalks. Fun fun!

Hubby and I filled the fridge, went to the package store and are watching 4 Brothers now.

Tomorrow I'll clean and bake a ham 🙂

I sincerely wish I could live life on the edge in this fashion.

Sadly, the above is on the edge compared to my life as of late.

23 now. drive 100miles round trip for my job. still love snow 🙂 kid at heart. thank god for snow blowers too.

Just started flurrying here, going to be a while before the heavy stuff arrives overnight. We're right in the path of the expected worst part of the snow, expecting 12"+. Ahhh well, it's been a great winter so far, it would be unrealistic to expect it to last forever. Good time for a blizzard though, at least I don't have to drive in it.

o'm 25 miles NE of boston, were supose to get 10-15 inches. not enough for me to really care about. even with 2 bald tires the explorer handles it fine in 4wd.
