Now you see what the problem is when China illegitimately undercuts their currency.

Though Airbus was launched three decades ago to challenge U.S. dominance in commercial aircraft, it has always relied on American suppliers. Firms like General Electric, United Technologies, Honeywell and Rockwell Collins do hundreds of millions of euros in business with Airbus each year.

I dont know how this is possible as nothing is made here anymore. Maybe GE and honeywell are buying stuff at walmart that was imported from china to resale to airbus?

weak dollar = cheaper to manufacture here, but more expensive to buy imports. and the dollar will only get weaker as we continue to run trade deficits. eventually we should achieve some equilibrium and swing back the other way. thing is, we ran trade surpluses for so long that the dollar was super strong.
