Sat, Oct 16 Missouri W 28-20
Sat, Oct 23 at Texas Tech W 51-21
Sat, Oct 30 at Colorado W 31-7
Sat, Nov 6 (23) Oklahoma State W 56-35 Quality Win, were down big however
Sat, Nov 13 at Kansas W 27-23 Had to win with zero seconds left, Kanasa under .500

This schedule is nothing to brag about, they lost to a better team, and only beat one ranked team and almost lost at least twice.

Utah has never been even close to losing.

Utah didn't play the same schedule. Only two computers have them ahead of Auburn(one slightly) and the other is pretty stupid.

Auburn's schedule easily matches up with Utah's and is much tougher. Plus, does Utah have to play a Championship game? Again, I think it is BS that USC or CAL doesn't have to.

They don't have to because they can't. I think the ncaa stipulates that to have a championship game, a conference must have at least 12 schools in the conference.

EDIT: It is NCAA rules

Under NCAA rules, conferences must have at least 12 teams to have a football championship game.

from this article about the ACC adding 3 schools.

Texas's schedule was MUCH tougher than Utah. Look, people can have this whole "they haven't lost" argument as a reason to have Utah ahead of Cal and Texas, but it doesn't work with me. I don't think Utah could beat Auburn, USC, OU, Cal, or Texas. At all. They have a good team, but not quite good enough. However, I will gladly eat my words if Utah can destroy their Bowl Opponent.

BCS is fscked up. That is really all there is to it.

Wasn't it a little unfair that LSU had to beat Georgia twice last season and Auburn had to play them this year?

Boohoo, top teams have to play tough teams to get any respect.

USC beat Cal....barely
Oklahoma beat Texas...like they do every year
Auburn beat Georgia, LSU(defending champs) and will have to beat Tennessee
Utah has played ???

As much as it hurts to say this, I don't want to see Texas lose to A&M, since that would most likely put Boise St in the BCS, and shove Cal out. Since Cal is definite top 4, to have them not go to a BCS game would be horrible. And who wants to see another non traditional Rose Bowl matchup?

An A&M team that also lost to Baylor... So, by your logic Baylor is as good or better than OU? Plz stfu.

also, i wouldnt consider 12-0 a raping (esp in comparison to last year)

Unless that opponent is Syracuse, which is definetly a possiblity, and would really suck for Utah.

I don't see how OU has this great SOS either. They also played some very weak teams -- five of them were under .500 -- and their big wins have been Texas and OSU.

They had a chance if they would have thrashed Bama....however they didn't look impressive at all playing against a Bama team with it's 3rd string QB, 4th string HB, and walk on FB on the field Saturday.

That's just the thing....all the talking heads were down on OU for their "close calls" in the RRS, at OSU, and at A&M. Yet they turn around and applaud Auburn and talk about how tough rivalry games are and how impressive it is to go on the road and win one. Well hello guys...OU has done that 3 times this season yet they get no credit for it.

And yes...OU's wins against Texas, OSU, & A&M were far more impressive that Auburn's at Bama. OU was playing those teams while they were at full strength. Bama on the other hand is bady depleted on offense.

You're missing the point.

The talking heads got down on OU after they won by small margins against OSU & A&M....yet now they are talking about how hard Aubrun played and how they responded so well to a "gut check" against Bama. They are giving Auburn props for the very thing they dogged OU about.........they can't have it both ways.

lets face it, its all about favorism,

some critics/writers will play down the close calls for some teams as great comebacks and call other teams great comebacks as close calls, comp ranking are good in that sense i suppose, they only look at raw numbers

Louisville is also a team that should be up there... a 3 point last second loss to Miami away from an undefeated season, and the #1 offense in the country.
Our defense needs just a tad bit of work and we'd be in there, bay-bee!!

And I don't get how Boise St. is above us. Who the hell have they played?

Boise is over-rated in this week's BCS for 2 reasons. 1) For some reason, poll voters foolishly believe that Boise could beat any and all of the two-loss teams from the BCS conferences. 2) Thanks to the computer rankings not factoring in MoV, the computers don't realize that Louisville's best game (loss to ranked Miami) is actually much more impressive than Boise's best game (beat ranked UTEP).

In theory the BCS is a good idea, but every year they seem to make a new and worse mess out of things with it. Next year should be even worse, because we get to look forward to TWO Rose Bowls. Apparently one will be for the National Championship and the other will be solely for including the non-BCS conferences in a big game (which Utah has proven is quite possible anyway)

edit: I just remembered that Louisville should be looking at a matchup with Boise in the Liberty Bowl. That should be a very interesting game.
