No, look at the stepping on the processor.

The bold part means 2003 week 24... which would be the 2nd week of June when it was manufactured.

Update... I'm now running Prime 95 at 2.3 Ghz (11.5x200) on 1.750 volts... computer locked up at 1.700 volts at that speed, didn't error in Prime 95, just locked up. Seems to be doing better on 1.750 though... however, temps are 54 C. So once I run some benchies on this to see how a barton runs at 2.3 Ghz, I'll probably switch back to 2.2 Ghz @ default voltage. Runs a lot cooler there =)

Yeah, I was hoping it would go higher too... was real optimistic when I hit 2.2 on stock voltage... I think I'm gonna try for 2.4 and see if it's stable at 1.750.

why don't you try keeping the mulitplier lower and raising the front side bus

if you want to see good benchmark scores, a higher front side bus will get you there alot faster than a higher mulitplier.

the thing is remember to up your Vdimm and raise your timings. if you got ddr400 go with like 2.77-2.90v and try timings 8,3,3,2 then 8,3,3,2.5

remember your temps will go down after you burn in the thermal grease. :)

Because my RAM doesn't like to be overclocked... and I'm already running 11-3-3-2.5... it's capable of 7-3-3-2.5, but that tRas trick does help in games, the minimum FPS isn't as low as with it at 7.

And I've never experience temps going down after "burning in" thermal compound.

Another update... I can boot into Windows at 2.4 Ghz on 1.750 volts, but as soon as I start Prime95 it locks up.

Did you buy the retail or the OEM version. I'm buying a 2500+ soon and was thinking about getting the retail just to have an emergency heatsink around. (retail is only 3 or 4 dollars more).

Has anyone noticed a difference between the retail and oem at the egg?

Prime95 finally got an error after 55 minutes at 2.3 Ghz on 2.750 volts... I think I'll stick with stock voltage and 2.2 Ghz =) Temp got up to 56C after 55 minutes.

SK-7 with a 70mm fan that seems to have slowed from 4500 RPM to about 4200 RPM... hmmm... may be time for a new one... damn thing is almost 3 years old =)

*EDIT* BTW, I played around some more... booted into Windows at 2.4 Ghz, but locked up when I started Prime95... raised voltage to 1.775 and same problem. POSTed at 2.5 Ghz at 1.750 volts though. Even booted into Windows, but locked up as soon as I logged in to my user account.

1700+@2.4
