Oh and...

I want the fuck off this ride. Up and down, up and down. I should have never boarded the VB Disaster Coaster. And yet, people stood in line for this?!

:p

VB was the forum software of hope and change. Someone should get a Nobel Prize... ^_^

really it was just begging for the change from the pockets of Anandtech.
They fooled us this time, we shan't let that happen again... o. Well, for shame.

Somehow going back to Bu...uhh...FuseTalk... doesn't seam like a good option, or even possible at this moment in time. Warp.

As long as the software doesn't go rogue, I guess I'll deal with what happens.

I'm a pretty handy guy. There are a lot of things I can do around the house and in the garage. But one of the things I pride myself on the most is knowing my own limitations. I know when I need to call a plumber. I know when I need an electrician. If I need stitches, I go to see the Doctor. If I don't have the tools or the knowledge needed I take my car to the mechanic.

The Forums are up, they're down, but for the most part, when they're up and running, they're as slow as molasses in January.

It's time IMO for whomever is shouldering the burden to realize that it's time to call in the experts. Bury your pride, pick up the phone and make the calls.

Know your limitations.

I already offered my help a long time ago, they don't want it.

I believe it may have been you I was thinking of when I typed my post. I seem to remember a post of yours in which you sounded very knowledgeable.

Regardless of who does the work, it's time for the on the job training to end.

I realize the Forums are free and I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. But the investment was made in new software. I have to assume that the intention was also to have it running as smooth and trouble free as possible. Someone do a cost-benefit analysis (if that's what it takes) and figure out if it's smarter to hire a pro or pro's or continue paying the existing help. With people that know how to do the job in place on a contract basis, just think what the regulars will learn.
