Weed is a terrible use of money

I am getting sick of seeing so many tokers. There is so much air congestion and they are a big waste of money. Weed makes little to no sense for most people living.

Whenever I see a concert with a haze of pot smoke over it, I think of the giant amount of capital that is being wasted. Weed users typically have utilization rates of less than 10%, which means they are money pits the rest of the time.

Sobriety + job prospects + a lack of having to be home by 4:20 every day is much better financially.

Let's consider the financials behind weed smokership. Here I assume that someone lives near a decently sized (> 1 million) metropolitan area, and smokes 2 hours each day of the week to kill time because of the job they lost by testing positive on a drug test.

Total hours smoking per month: 60 hours
Munchies: $100/month
Bong maintenance: $100/month (including land value of living in your parents basement)
Weed: $400/month (assuming 30 plants per garden, $4 per plant, and 30 joints per plant average)
Cost per hour of smoking: $7.33 (<---I didn't really check this math any more than the OP in the real thread probably did.)

If you have access to weed-sharing services like a hookah, which costs around $9/hour, then why would you own a bong? With internet shopping, home delivery, taxis/Uber, and cheap rolling papers it makes no sense to me.

Where the hell did you get these figures from? Bong maintenance... $100 seriously? When I smoked the only bong maintenance I did was empty out the water and refill it when time to smoke again. Twice a year I got some pipe cleaners and did an alcohol soak to bring back its shine.

Two sayings I've always heard: remember that 50% of the population is below average; not everyone can work for NASA.

Someone has to flip burgers, pave roads, mow lawns, work retail, ect. If they're just as happy smoking their life away in an alternate reality as someone making decent money sober, let them. They're doing you a favor.

Agreed completely. Dabbing has a much higher efficiency level than the flowers.

😀 doing a BHO run this weekend!

Gotta wear in the new vapor curve.

People who spend their money on anything I wouldn't spend my money on are wasting their time, money and lives. For example, a mortgage. I would never pay your mortgage. Why are you paying your mortgage? That's a complete waste of money that could be going towards causes that specifically benefit me.

I don't care what other people do with their money/time. If they need a crutch to get through life that's their business. If it isn't pot it would be something else. I do get a little tired of all the "medical" marijuana crap. For the vast majority of people just call it what it is, your recreational drug of choice via a card you paid some shady doctor a couple hundred dollars for.
