Maybe it's just a hint that they're hoping for cash?

My registry (this summer) didn't have a single thing on it worth MORE than $200, and it had a lot of nice stuff on it. Then again we didn't register at Williams Sonoma.

They're dropping $80K on their wedding day and honeymoon (I'm making this up); how can they not need cash? I'm literally a millionaire; literally! I'm not going to be unhappy about someone slipping me a Bejamin.

maybe it's a Jersey thing, but for every wedding I've been to, the registry tends to be expensive stuff for the parents/grandparents to buy and everyone else just gives money.
