Website Submission- PLEASE HELP!!!

Im not sure if this is the proper place to put this, but Im having difficulty submitting my companies website to yahoo. Ive gone through there process about 4 times now, again today, and still am not coming up in any of their searches. Does anyone have any helpful info on how to become important to these huge web search engines? I really need to get this done and hesititate paying lots of money to a company that claims they submit to over 500 search engines. Or is the only way to do it. PLEASE HELP!!!
 
Flood is right on the money. It seems like it takes forever for the search eng to get your site in there database. One site I have up took over 2 months after submission.

what do you guys know about the yahoo service. the thing you pay like 150 dollars for to have them consider your website a priority?
This is very discouraging. So do i just keep resubmitting every few weeks till is see something? and why didnt it show the few times ove already done it in the last 6 months? I wish they would email me if they have a problem with the website or somethingg, which they shouldnt. Its just a manufacturing company my dad runs.
