I have a Compaq presario V2000, for some reason I'm not able to get to some sites, like my school site or usps.com I don't know why. The reason that I believe its my computer is becuase my roomate has the same computer and is able to get to those sites. I have tried on other wireless networks and still get the same problem...

any idea what it could be?🙁

Consider posting the reply to the following command at the DOS prompt:
IPCONFIG /ALL

and also posting the content of your HOSTS file in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC (for Windows XP, anyway).

I have a similar problem on one of my computers that I have not been able ot solve yet. I can go to newegg.com, but I am unable to go to www.newegg.com. It makes it difficult to do anything at NE because everytime I try to find more about products it just times out. If I copy/paste the link in a new browser and delete the www I can actually view whatever there fine though... it's really confusing.
