Im working for a non-profit and I need some type of way to block kids from visiting game/violent/pron sites. Any suggestions?? I've tried to sign up for the trial for net nanny but it keeps giving me the run around. Most of the machines have win2k and the gpo wont allow the block for some reason.

the best filter i know of is Bsafe...........but that costs $50.

I was reading somewhere and i came across a server (some college server) that has a proxy with a net filter that you can connect through. It was free and all but i forgot the name. try searching for it. If you find one let us know!

You can also try Ubuntu Christian Edition. I heard that has a built in Internet filter. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about viruses.

If you have any linux experience at all you can use Dansguardian with squid. Ive used it many times in the past and its pretty solid. Its highly configurable and very fast. Its also available in most distros package managers. Its free for non commercial use as well.

I worked for a school for 5 years. Do yourself a favor and buy a SonicWall.

Depending on how big your organization is you could get anything from a SOHO model to a enterprise model.
