I'm thinking about starting a ecommerce site and I'm wondering if anyone has been through this and could give me an idea of the cost. I'm unsure of the number of pages so a per page cost would be appreciated. I'll be using a local DSL provider as a host 20.00 a month. Would I be better off providing my own server?
Any insight would be appreciated.

I expect to offer around 100 items to start.

its not easy to be a small ecommerce company. I would advise you to kick around the net and price different ecommerce and shopping cart software. It's going to cost some money to get going. The more you can do yourself, the cheaper it will be.
 
The DSL provider is providing me with the Shopping cartEcommerce software. I just have to get the web pages designed.
