Website Design Costs

I have been asked by someone who does Embroidery to design a website for her company. What do people normally charge for this type of work? I would rather charge for the whole project than by the hour so I need some ideas of what to charge. What do people normally charge per page? Thanks

Depending on the complexity of each page, for a basic site with 4 pages that takes 1-2hrs to make, I'd charge $100 to create, plus a maintenance fee for updates

I estimate the time * $10/hour, if I like them. Of course, if it involves helping to setup a merch account or storefront, I usually quote much higher and hope they go somewhere else. I've grown tired of side work and constant updates people want for free. If they are my close friends, I just advise them to go somewhere else so that we're still friends.

EBay or Yahoo! store? Could just do that. I bet you anyt money she'd do well with EBay.

$20 per page for straight HTML, $200 minimum. $40 per page for any database work, $500 minimum. Goes up if images aren't supplied.

I usually tell clients that it's cheaper for them to just pay the extra and let me load everything up into a DB instead of having me come in and do updates at $100 a shot. Works for them because they have an easy interface to change content that needs to be updated and works for me because I get paid more up front and spend little to no time supporting them.

wow you guys are cheap

for static pages i usually sock at least a 500 design fee and ~100 per page (depending on page count, type of content, page functions)

I would charge about $400-$500 for a small project. Just make sure they don't come bugging you for updates. They may expect that to be free. I would tell them anything after that is hourly....$15-$20 an hour. $10/hour is way cheap.

Are you good at what you do? Are you a professional? if you're just a friend that knows a little HTML then just charge 100 bucks.

Anyone have a ball park figure on what it would cost me to have a designed similar to this one.

I would need a forum and a store as well

$75/hr for regular HTML work, $100/hr for stuff generally involving a database.

$10 or $15/hr? Dear God. I'd rather go back to work at Best Buy, at least there I'd spend the day talking to MILFs.

Eh, for flash and a forum and a store you're looking at $2000+ easy. The amount of graphics work is pretty high. They're using an unmodified freebie forum solution though so I guess they skimped somewhere.

It is 100% dependant on what you need and your skill at doing it. You could easily charge someone $500, but if you suck at design expect to not get paid until you re-design a crappy looking or misfunctioning site.

For the site alone, it'd run 1300 to 1800 from my company (although we've done flash sites for as little as 1000)

Store design and implementation is 1000, but combined with above would cut about 400 from it
same for forums

So I'd say, if i were doing it, a similar site with forums and ecommerce solution would be 2500-3000
