My parents have a webcam and they want us to get one so that we can chat back and forth and see each other and the baby once she is born.

Any ideas on a good CHEAP webcam (yes, I am Skoorb's wife! :p ) that is somewhat half decent to use? My father said he got logitech for $75CAN and it works fine....ideas?

Intel webcams. Never used one, but cheap. Very cheap. What about those ones that EarthLink was giving away?

An alternative for a webcam if you have the equipment, is a TV-in card and video camera.

the only one i ever saw that got a really good picture was the apple iSight...beyond that I've had logitech, ibm(xirlink), intel, and one of those cheapy brands...none of them held up against the iSight

but since u must go cheap I'd go xirlink/ibm models...they seemed to have the next best picture but still pretty grainy, they did have a decent picup time though

I don't even know what a good price would be a for a webcam...I just knew I had to get this posted before Skoorb would even think of buying one! He would always post here first for ideas...:p
