Webcam won't work

Hey all, I got a MCM-H10W webcam, new, Vista64 certified. Installs with driver, but no video coming through. Shows up in Skype, but as black.
Used both driver CD and windows default driver. No banana.
Any ideas?
 
Call it DOA and trade it in for a new one. If you still have problems with the new one then there may be a setting being overlooked.

This is obvious but i'll put it out there anyway. Is there anything covering the sensor like a lese cap or something that may have been put on it to protect the lenze in the packaging?
 
Never heard of webcam brand name but I think you should try Logitech or Creative webcam I have own both and they are the best.
