webcam software for chatting

I'm trying to find a decently interfacing webcam software that my parents and I can use so that they can keep in touch in a more technological way with my new son.

So far I have been using yahoo's IM client with integrated video chat support. This, unfortunately, hasn't proved to work very well and I'm not sure why.

Both my parents and I have webcams that we'd like to use to talk at the same time. Usually in Yahoo one or both webcams will freeze and the only way for my parents to reconnect is to restart their computer. Obviously this is very frustrating and has made staying in touch very difficult.

We are both using windows XP but my parents computer is a fairly old HP laptop, with I believe a 1.5Ghz core and probably 256mB. I don't know if it's the Yahoo software or the old computer.

Any advice on decent software that isn't resource intensive?

Thanks AT

I setup AOL for someone to use a cam with, but it was a pita, and I have no idea how I eventually figured it out LoL. Have you tried MSMessenger? I never used it, but setup looks pretty straight forward.
