webcam problems

does anyone else have a problem with the built in webcam with these laptops?

i run it for 5 seconds max and the picture goes black, and you can only see outlines. low light mode seems to be fsked up too. uninstalled all software for the webcam and it worked for a bit but the problem came back so i reinstalled then uninstalled and it worked again for a short amount of time. it seems to keep looping back to regular mode from low-light mode like it has an auto sensor that i cant switch.

anyone have a fix for this? or any suggestions to try? its on 64bit vista w/ sp1


edit: i installed the latest ati drivers for the hd 2600. didnt really help
 
sorry to dig my own thread up from the grave, but does anyone know of a 3rd party program that will allow me to control exposure and such? i solved the problem for it not working completely but still dont have the option to control exposure...hook me up plz.
