Webcam Problems

I have tried two different webcams, one is a D-Link, the other is a Logitech. The computer is a AMD Athlon XP 2600+ with a Abit motherboard.

Both webcams make yahoo messenger AND MSN messenger lock up when I transmit webcam. However, the programs that came with the webcams for taking pictures both work.

I have the D-LINK cam working on another computer with the exact same motherboard. I thought maybe it was a windows problem so I completely reinstalled Windows XP Pro on the computer, which did not help.

Anyone have any ideas?

Update chipset drivers from Abit might be a good start.

Update drivers and firmware from Logitech or D-Link.

Run Windows Update.
