Webcam Advice

Ok so im basically looking for a cheap web cam i can just use for talking to people online on stuff like skype and such and i was wondering on what people thought of this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16826104066

I have just started the same search myself but for notebook cams. They all seem fairly similar within there respective price range but if you can up your budget a few dollars and get at least a resolution of 800*600.

Why do the 800*600 res webcams perform alot better?

Anything lower than that would just be to poor in video quality, at least to me.

There's only a couple (last I knew) Logitech webcams that'll let you broadcast higher definition video over Skype. Maybe check Skype's website to see what models are compatible. I don't recall at the moment what resolution that would be.

I got a Logitech QuickCam 5000 something or other a couple years back and it works great in all kinds of lighting (even none) and is Skype certified. Muffles background noises. But it's not on the list of cameras that Skype will send higher definition video from. Curses.
