Web Site Hosting -- WHO?

I use verisign now, and their rates are a joke. Can anyone recommend another company so I can transfer my domain over to them? I have a web hosting company that hosts my page now, but I just need to renew my domain name.

Any suggestions or opinions on other services besides verisign or register.com?

I've got 2 domains with Register.com. I don't recommend their hosting, but they're a great registrar. They have a lot of online options to change your DNS entries online with minimal effort and the menus are very easy to use. However, they're a little price compared to the cheaper companies like godaddy.com. Register.com is about $35 a year I think. Godaddy.com is under $10 a year.

Godaddy just doesn't have the "ease of use". You're also limited to the aliases you can setup if you're going to use their DNS services.

Considering all the other jokers out there in the web hosting department, I can't complain about one of my current hosts -- Network Eleven. They are quick resolving issues and they have been reliable & pretty quick (I, like many others, go through different backbones on the 'Net, so speed varies). In short, I would recommend them.

Good luck and let us know who you choose and how it goes.

Hosting? Easy... Readyhosting.com with their one-rate plan... they offer RIDICULOUS amounts of everything. Take 2 minutes to check out what they have to offer and you'll agree. I have 3 sites using them. If you want to test their speed, just click on my web site link below and it'll initially load 350KB. 😉

EDIT>>> Sorry shoulda read your whole post... if it's name transfer, definitely go with GoDaddy.com (never used Namecheap.com). GoDaddy made the process COMPLETELY simple.

I think namecheap.com is the cheapest -- $8.88 a year for domain registrations. godaddy.com is $8.99 or something. Both have been determined to be reliable and legit here.
