Web server on a P-100 with 64MB RAM????

I've had a web server + router + samba (windows sharses of mp3s and videos) all on a machine like that. You would never know. only problem is that my upstream connection isn't fast enough for a real web server.

I've done it on a 486 DX2/66 w/ 16MB RAM. It all depends on what you want to serve, what volume, and how much control.

Just for a basic personal web site with text and some pictures/photo albums. My upstream is about 1.2mbps. Plenty for what I need.

BTW, you can install clarkconnect with php and add a picture gallery module very easily

also, it is easy to install andromeda if you want an mp3 server

I am running my webserver on a Dual Pentium Pro 200 box with 128MB of RAM. The machine is running Redhat 7.2 and has been humming along nicely for almost two years.

yeah, it seems webservers LOVE memory.....i'll have a look i might have a 200mhz pentium i could send you if you wanna pay shipping(i'd have to find it if it's even still around) mssg me if you care too
