Web pages wont load but finds the sites IP addresses

I cant get the internet to work on this ladies computer.. i tried to use lspfix and winsockxpfix 1.2

the internet wont work.. webpages wont load but adaware downloaded updates and when i type in www.google.com it finds its ip address...

any suggestions?

What tools should i download?

did adaware find any problems? does it happen no matter what DNS it hits?

try reloading the tcp/ip stack, doesn't take long and fixes weird issues sometimes.

sounds like she has some kind of security suite installed. If she has norton internet security or mcafee firewall/security, remove them all! Reboot and see if you can get online.
