I am new to web design and would like to know what your personal software pick is for a newbie who wants to build a decent personal page? By decent, I would like one that doesn?t look totally flat and one dimensional like mine do when I use MS Word or Netscape Composer. My primary need is to use the page for photos and general information, maybe a resume some day. Links or files to my favorite sites will also be considered.

I bought a copy of Net Object Net Fusion PE because I had seen it in use at a PC club several years ago. It looked easy, but what do you recommend for a easy and somewhat WYSIWYG application? Any Net Object users out there?
Pros \ Cons?

Thanks in advance!

I got mine free after rebate as a way to turn a CUSA GC into cash.

The company that created NOF has bankrupted and sold it to another company. No way of telling if it will get decent support. However, it is a decent WYSIWYG page designer and in some ways easier than MS FP2000.

I'd say play with it a bit . . . just follow their tutorial . . .

I've been using Macromedia's Dreamweaver (Ultradev) for years now & love it. Good WYSYWIG, excellent support + 3rd party addins available - an all round winner !

and no I don't work for Macromedia :)

For plain html then use Dreamweaver, for ASP probably Ultradev(dont know asp), right now for php you better just know html.

I hope the next ultradev version will support php.

Have you tried the Interakt PHP module for Ultradev ? - I'm new to PHP and it's helped me no end.

Hopefully Macromedia will pull their finger out for the next release !
