Web page critique

no offense.. but if that's MORE professional, I'd hate to see what it looked like before.

get rid of all the flashy stuff if you're truly after a professional site. It's irritating and probably doesn't work for have the joes out there anyway.

Professional?

The screen shaking, text moving, and that lame ass screen-fading isnt exactly "professional".

It has the stench of a warez site.

a) right clicking disabled? WTF? What if I wanna right click, then whatcha gonna do?
b) Your quote obviously speaks from the point of view of 3dfx is god all other companies are trash, and then you claim to have

<< detailed reviews of unquestionable knowledge and wisdom >>

If you were trying to make it professional, I think you've failed. If you want a site for us to sh!t on and giggle at like you mentioned, then you've passed the test 🙂

Pretty biased for a supposed hardware review site. The intro page took over a minute to load on my cable modem, plus that shaky voodoo3 picture took another minute and a half. Thats two intro pages so far? Did you try this on any older browsers? If you say your going professional, then you probably want most people to be able to read your site, not just the ones sitting on broadband using IE 5+.
Not to be too critical, but the thing looks barely more professional than a warez site, and only because there aren't 6 porn links on each page. What are you going for? Right now it looks like a fanboy site, so if that's what your aiming for then good job.

edit: grammar

Midi in web pages are very unprofessional. So is the fading and shaking. And the big ass words.

ok...
I guess I should thank you for things that have been brought to my attention.

Fading, is it the page transitions that suck? Or the intro fade?

why does it look like a warez site? Doesn't my 3dfx picture look good enough to base the page around it?

What should I do? Take off the voodoo 5 pic?

Why did it take you 2 min to load the pic? It takes me a less than 30 seconds on 56k to load the second intro page.

I did the DBz Part for fun.

And if the page was professional, I would have made it look like this

my other site

the shaking screen is gonna give me a seizure 😉

i like the interactivity with the buttons and such though 🙂

About disabling right click so that other's couldn't steal your work, all you have to do is disable javascript and you can right click all you want.

1) get rid of the screen shaking - it's annoying

2) get rid of that intro page...I don't like going to sites that says "click here to enter"...it makes me wanna hit the back button

3) green and black doesn't match

4) don't be a cocky punk and think people will "steal your creativity"

5) your site reminds me more like a gothic guy's homepage than a professional site

6)

<< And if the page was professional, I would have made it look like this >>

you just said so yourself that you made the page more professional...meaning you meant it to be professional before and now made it more so

it's called having fun in notepad for one, and providing "simple media" for professional sites for professional business, for professonal people!!!

like I said, my other "warez" isn't too bad, so I am waiting for a response from you guys on what kind of hardware pages you want.

<< so I am waiting for a response from you guys on what kind of hardware pages you want. >>

I dunno...I like this one.

Prodigy, why both diabling javascript when you can just go to VIEW - SOURCE in IE???

I personally just put little comments all thru the code about people, interspersed next to the html.

are you insulting me, is flamingtext a proggy?

If it is one of those websites with the text, I am not using it... Although my friend did a couple of images for me, but I think he used photoshop for those

and where is paulsons web site, and for that reason, yours?

Hey I wanted to reply because I noticed you had a lot of a-hole replies and when I see those type of replies....it just pisses me off. I mean some of these people replying who are commenting on your "professionalism" cannot even spell right.

My suggestions to you are the following:

Work on getting some type of logo that can sum up what your webpage is about....do the same for your little summary on the main page. Sum it all up into a couple of words. I realize you said " more professional" not professional so it's kind of hard for me to say because I do not know what your site looked like before and I do not know how these people can comment, unless they have/had seen your site before.

Casio, you could insult a million people's websites, and it wouldn't make yours seem a damn bit better. Get off the insecurity problem and ask people how you could fix up yours instead of trying to put them down because you're upset that we didn't take an instant liking to your site.

Uhg. I quit when I saw "Click Here To Enter" page number 2.

Shaking text is a no, it's worse than the blink tag.

Fades are a no, just stick with the HTML, please. If I want special effects I'll run a screensaver. It's also not compatible with many browsers.

Come down off whatever induced the God complex you seem to have. "Unquestionable knowledge and wisdom"? No.

<< Best if viewed on a 56k connection, many report that on DSL technology, scripts may not work, or may not work unless the screen is refreshed, so keep that in mind >>

Eh. I'm not even touching this one.

And then we get to http://www.geocities.com/casiotech99/main.html, and I sat there and watched the scrollbar on the lefthand frame shrink, grow, disappear, and so on and decided it belonged there.

(Before you ask me where MY site is, I was a professional website designer for local businesses for 3 years. None of them are currently productive due to bonehead management, so I can't show you my work.)
