Web might be down for a while.

We're having a storm here in the PNW that's supposed to bring 60 mph gusts. That usually brings us power outages. Lots of them already being reported around the region.

I need something for backup service. Cell service stayed up so I could use a phone, but what I have won't work as a hot spot for the computers or other devices which means I lost my radar screen during the storm.

It needs to be available on short notice, but not have a continuous monthly charge. Pay as you go kind of thing. Turn on, use, turn off. Pay in advance for 'X' Gig or days might be OK as long as it could be activated within a few minutes when needed.

A thing called FreedomPop used to have a home hub thing, but it doesn't look like they offer it any more.

Google Fi might work since they offer "pay-as-you-go" and unlimited hot-spot. They charge $20 for service and $10 per GB for data. (Fi uses T-Mobile and/or US Cellular)

I have Ting wireless currently and they are $10 for service plus $5 per GB each month and they also offer unlimited hot-spot however YMMV with signal strength. (Ting uses T-Mobile and/or Verizon but Fi has the better coverage)
