Can someone recommend a GOOD reliable web hosting company with decent support?!

I have been with iPower from the beginning (like for years) and everthing has been fine. Never had a problem, but I am ready to bail.

Short story - I use my site in my professional life and have come to depend on it, but daily access is a must with updates and whatnot. I go away for vacation over the holiday and everything is fine. I come back and since Sunday of this week I can't access my site via my FTP program.

Then, this is where the hell part comes in, I try to get iPower on the phone to resolve this. They are like IMPOSSIBLE to get to - HOURS spent on hold. NOBODY in level 1 tech knows what is going on (WHEN you get lucky and EVERYONE in front of you hangs up in frustration), and I am beginning to wonder about level 2 now. I finally break through to level 2 yesterday, get an email where they ask for my user id and pass, etc. Then NOTHING. I get no communication - NOTHING.

I email them back again asking when this will see resolution (since it ISN'T my problem - well I guess it is NOW) and it is like my message goes into a black hole.

Unbelievable.

For the LOVE OF GOD - HELP ME!!

**Phew - feel a little better, but until I find a new host and get fully transfered, things are not right.

I've had great success with Bluehost.com; I think I might be able to get a referral perk so lemme know if you think it looks like something you might be interested in.

I've narrowed it down to Bluehost and HostMonster. Support will be the nod though I think, especially after my experieneces with iPower (shudder).

I just don't get it. It didn't used to be like this. I've had to contact them in the past and things WERE better. Whether this is reduced staff, or people who just don't give a crap anymore I don't know. I am now on DAY 5 of not having access to my site via FTP, this is the SECOND day after their so called level 2 tech has emailed me. I responded within an hour to his question and then, the sound of crickets. I notice they are loosing a massive number of domains in recent months. Now I think I understand in a personal way why that is the case.

How problems are handled, and how a company treats communication with me are much more important than they used to be for me.

Have you ever had to contact Bluehost? What was your experience in that area?

PM me your information and I'll give you the nod if I go that way.

Here is a list of hosting sites and a reason for why each is on the list. I too am looking for a webhost and am leaning toward webhostingpad or inmotion hosting. I will probably go with webhostingpad because of the price ($4 a year) and they are rated for best service, the other is for business which seems like they should be better because of that.

let me know how it turns out!

I recently switched from 1and1.com (they are still hijacking my domain even after prompt email response with transfer information) to hostmonster and enjoying the speed and support.
