Will you transfer over my current website for me?

It's very likely we can. If your old host gives you cPanel access it's no issue at all. If you don't have cPanel access then it will depend on some other factors.

🙂

hi agaboogaboo, how many ftp accounts will we be able to have? i run a site with my friends and i don't want all of them to have access to the public_html directory because they're bound to mess something up. 🙂 also, can i purchase a plan while you're at this price and then hook up my domain later?

The Standard package gives 1 additional FTP account while the Expanded package gives 3 additional FTP accounts. By saying additional I mean besides the one for your account.

The other packages (S125, S300, S500) give unlimited FTP accounts.

As for the domain name, you will need to use a domain name when signing up. If you have any other domain name you can use that and then get it changed later.

Thanks 🙂

Thanks for the kind comments cw42 🙂

I think this is a great deal, but 250mb is kind of lacking. What kind of website do you design with only 250mb of space?

For the price I think it is a great deal.

Well, I have everything set up with Cernax now. This deal is GREAT. I just switched from Ripplehost (aka Hell) to Cernax, and couldn't be happier. I was a n00b and thought it would be hard to switch hosts, but all you have to do is log into your domain registrar's website (I use godaddy.com), and updated the nameservers to the Cernax nameservers once you have an account.

Easy as pie! Thanks AgaBoogaBoo! Looking forward to many years of webhosting bliss 🙂

I switched from Ripplehost too, and the customer service is great. You can count on me for a customer for a few years.

You won't find that much space for the price and service.

Most people that get that account aren't planning on running an elaborate site, more than likely just a personal one.

With .png files and HTML, maybe a couple flash displays, a shopping cart, and a bunch of javascript, I don't know how you can use up 250 mb. Personal or eCommerce, that is substantial space. If you need more space you might need to rethink the page design and use include file.

If you are looking to store files for download, then, sure, it will run shy, but that is not the target for this deal.

Well said, this plan is useful for large amounts of different types of people because of the space and bandwidth given, especially for home or personal use.

🙂

I needed somewhere to host a website for a lawn mowing company I've been trying to start up. For my personal website, I have been using ripplehost.com for a while, and while they're not horrible, they are inferior to Cernax. I could not be more satisfied with my decision. If you are wondering whether or not the switch to Cernax is worth it, believe me, it was WELL worth the transition for me.

I do my best to make sure my customers are satisfied, which is why I offer the 10 day money back guarantee on all new orders

quick response time.

I had password trouble with cPanel (wouldn't let me change my pass to something I wanted) and it was taken care of quickly. Got my $10 worth right there.

I just hope that the rates don't go up next year for personal websites.

nice deal, but a graphic heavy site can easily use up that bandwidth. be careful about image optimization if you use this deal or your visitors will get the dreaded "bandwidth exceeded" page.

From what I've seen, 2.5GB is more than enough for personal websites and other sites. Unless the website has a large forum or hosts large files, this shouldn't be an issue for most people. Also, Cernax monitors usage so if we feel a user is going to run out of bandwidth, we'll contact them and let them know 🙂

Oh yeah, of course. Don't get me wrong, 5GB is plenty of bandwidth 🙂 I'm just saying a user who gets about 1500-2000 visitors a month will need more unless they manage their graphic optimization well. I don't think many "personal" sites get that many hits anyways.

This is a great deal, I'm probably going to sign up for my personal site as well.

It takes quite a bit to use 250mb. Again, this is geared towards personal use. Perhaps for experimenting with different web designs and PHP scripts. (Not that you can't do that locally, but its just not as cool, lol)

IF you use up the space really fast, you are not optimizing your graphics correctly. You don't need use all jpegs and they definitely don't need to be at high quality for most applications.

Maybe you just have some huge databases or hosting a successful forum. In both cases it wouldn't really be a personal site anymore and you should find some hosting geared towards ecommerce level traffic.

Yup, as said before I switched from Crippleho$t earlier in the week, and have been very pleased with Cernax.

Yup, I've actually had quite a few customers come from them, they all seem to like the change. 🙂
