Thanks for the encouragement! I'm going to spend the next few weeks looking into improving my site. What do you guys think of XHTML and XML? Should I incorporate this into the site?

Dont overdo it. It's an easy trap to fall into. You gotta know where to draw the line. It may be appropriate for your site, I dont know. But just keep in mind that you are not the only one looking at it. Simple is nice. JMO.
 
My site. It used to have more content, but then my host (I still haven't gotten around to changing to dixiesys) started changing all of the PHP security settings. Now it's just a blog, but I might end up putting some more content on it.
 
I'd post of some of my work, but it's hardly "Portfolio" material. I'll clean it up one day for everyone's enjoyment. 😉

OK. Now can you see the small blue bar with the slogan... "proudly serving the community of..." ?
Is there any way you could design some custom graphic, picture, or element for me which would fit into that blue bar?
I guess I can make the bar a litte big bigger. But overall I would like to keep the layout the way it is. It is very simple but it works...
Something related to computers or networks....?

Pretty good! How do web designers come up with the front page design and the logo? Trial and error? When I try and design pages, I generally don't come up with a good color combo and layout.
 
Link is in my sig. Been doing it for awhile now but I still consider myself an amateur at best. Some of you folks here have some pretty amazing stuff. 🙂
