Web browsers and system resources

Hi,

Do any of you guys know which of these browsers uses up the most system resources?

Netscape 4.7
Internet Explorer 5.5
Mozilla 1.0

How effective are each of these in using memory?

Thanks.

It's hard to tell. I would avoid Netscape 4.x because it's so old, not many sites work well in it any more. IE shares a lot of resources with the rest of the OS so it's less obvious how much memory it's using. Mozilla uses a good amount of memory but I prefer it because it's safer and more standards compliant.

The most people start using Mozilla instead of IE, the less sites we'll see that only work in IE and that's a good thing for everyone.

My experience is that Opera is by far the fastest browser on computers with less memory. However, if you have a slower CPU and a decent amount of memory (64mb+) Mozilla wins.
